Hunasan is a Cebuano term for seashore. Barangay MAZAWALO has a long and wide shoreline that is abundant with different kinds of sea foods such as sea shells and sea weeds. These products from nature has sustained the livelihood of the residents of the barangay such today, August 10, 2019, the barangay officials led by Captain Eden Enorasa and the youth leaders organized a Hunasan festival featuring a cooking festival with the different sea products as the main ingredients for the recipes and with the presentation of the five lovely Hunasan Queen 3-minutes showdown . It was their expression of gratitude for the graces received by the barangay through the intercession of the patron saint, San Roque, whose feast they celebrate every 15th of August. And this event was graced by Municipal Mayor Hon. Myra Georgina L. Arevalo, MD., Vice Mayor Ramon C. Oñate, SB Members and Palompon Municipal Eco-Tourism Council Inc.
