3-DAY BASIC BHW TRAINING

Barangay health workers are community volunteers who plays a vital role in the delivery of service. In order to equip our health workers with the knowledge, skills and attitude to aid in performing their jobs, the Department of Health Center of Development in coordination with the Local Govt. Unit of Palompon organized the 3-day Basic BHW Training to 52 untrained BHW’s.

The training was opened by our ever supportive Municipal Mayor Ramon Chu Oñate who delivered a message of encouragement to our health volunteers. A pretest was conducted to gauge their stock knowledge. Speakers from their respective fields shared their knowledge and experiences in their subject matters. On the last day the participants were assessed on basic vital signs taking. They also underwent a post test to measure how much they have learned during their 3-day. Before closing the programs a guessing game was done and prizes were given. Finally, the program was closed by Mr. Joannelynn Bohol, RN, Public Health Nurse, who reminded the volunters to apply their learning in their community.
