Regional Youth Summit Unite for Progress 2017

In June 28-29, 2017, Palompon was visited by 30 International Delegates from 16 countries care of the Flagship Program of Philippine to the ASEAN 2017 in relation with the Regional Youth Summit, first ever localize in Eastern Visayas. The visit was in line with the Philippine Youth Development Agenda in crafting strategies for the first multi-level Youth Development Plan and Agenda, relative to the effects of Typhoon “Haiyan” or Super Typhoon Yolanda. Several jump-off locations were included in there itinerary and Kalanggaman Island, Palompon, Leyte was one of their prime destination. They were welcomed by a good program of cultural dances from PIT Talents and the LGU Dance Group. No less than the Palompon Local Officials, the Administrator, the Department Heads and the Heads of Local Government Agencies were around upon the delegates arrival at the Palompon Municipal Hall or their way home, the delegates from 2-Brunei, 4-Cambodia, 2-Indonesia, 2-Malaysia, 2-Myanmar, 2-Vietnam, 2-Singapore, 2-Thailand, 1-Uganda, 1-Egypt, 1-Ghana, 1-France, 1-Nepal, 1-Ukraine, 1-Poland and 5-Philippines were happy and grateful to Mayor Ramon C. Oñate for the hospitality and for their super enjoyable leisure and fun in Kalanggaman Island. And they did say “We will be back Kalanggaman!” and “Thank you Mr. Yuri Yangco”,
